Stockton, CA - Five Killed in Car Accident on I-5 in French Camp

Stockton, CA (March 15, 2021) – Four members of a family from Tracy were among the five people killed in a crash that occurred late last Thursday on Interstate 5 near Stockton, reports from the San Joaquin County Coroner’s Office stated.

Two of the four victims were children and the fifth victim, a man, has not been identified. The other two people killed in the accident were 42-year-old Larinda Jones and 33-year-old Nathaniel Clifton, 33.

Officers say that the incident was reported around 11:01 p.m. on northbound I-5 in French Camp. The family's 1997 Toyota sedan hit a fence, a sign, and a tree, according to troopers with the California Highway Patrol.

The CHP report said at least one person involved in the wreck is suspected of having been under the influence of drugs or alcohol. The events leading up to the collision are still unclear, and further details have not been released.
