Fremont, CA (July 3, 2021) – Officers with the Fremont Police Department are seeking help from the public in locating the driver of a vehicle that struck and seriously injured a pedestrian on Wednesday evening, June 30.
The pedestrian accident took place around 10:30 p.m. at the intersection of Peralta Boulevard and Dusterberry Way. Authorities say that the victim was pushing a cart holding recyclables and other personal items when he was struck by an unknown vehicle. The driver fled the scene before the police arrived at the crash site, authorities reported.
Fremont officers said that the pedestrian sustained major injuries as a result of the collision and was transported to an area medical center via ambulance and Fremont EMTs. Authorities have not provided any description of the vehicle involved and have not released details about the injured pedestrian.
The investigation is ongoing at this time.
