Hesperia, CA - Craig Sale Killed in Three-Car Crash at Choiceana Ave & Yucca St

Hesperia, CA (July 25, 2021) – A 59-year-old driver died after a teen boy driving an SUV ran a stop sign in Hesperia, causing a collision that also involved two other vehicles on Thursday, July 22, deputies with the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said.

Officers say that the crash was reported at 7:00 a.m. and occurred at the intersection of Choiceana Avenue and Yucca Street.

Investigators say the 14-year-old boy was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe west on Yucca Street when he failed to stop. He was then broadsided by a 2008 Honda Civic driven by a 55-year-old man headed northbound on Choiceana Avenue. A 2020 Kia Sportage traveling southbound on Choiceana also collided with the two cars.

The Kia's driver was rushed to an area medical center via ambulance but died at the hospital, per a release from the SBCSD. The Coroner’s Office identified the deceased as 59-year-old Craig Sale of Hesperia. Minor injuries were reported by the other individuals involved.

Deputy Nathan Campos, a sheriff’s spokesman, said that no information on the circumstances surrounding the collision is available at this time. It's also unclear whether the teen boy's parents are being investigated.

Officers say they are still piecing together the events leading up to the wreck.

Our deepest condolences go out to the family of Craig Sale. Our thoughts are with the injured victims in hopes of a full recovery.

California Fatal Car Accidents

Emeryville, CA - One Killed, Several Injured in Two-Car Crash at Emery St & W MacArthur Blvd

California Department of Transportation officials said that more than 30,000 traffic accidents resulted in fatalities, major injuries, or minor injuries on Bay Area roadways over the last several years. As a result, thousands of lives are lost every year on California's highways, particularly on major thoroughfares connecting large city centers like San Francisco and the rest of the Bay Area, local streets across the state, and beyond.

Unfortunately, car accidents causing injuries or even fatalities are a common part of life in California. When multiple victims are involved in an accident and sustain injuries, they may have to deal with other drivers' insurance companies, long-term physical pain, and expensive hospital bills. Occasionally, as a result of these incidents, victims succumb to their injuries, leaving their grieving families to cope with emotional trauma and financial difficulties as a result of another driver's negligence.

But the victims and their families affected by these wrecks can seek help from a Bay Area accident attorney. A skilled attorney in California can help victims seek justice and the fair compensation they deserve after suffering in an accident that occurred through no fault of their own.

Fatal Bicycle Accidents in the Bay Area

Fremont, CA - UPDATE: Teen Killed in Bicycle Accident at Hansen Ave & Dutra Way

According to reports released by the California Department of Transportation, data show that deadly bike injuries are on the rise throughout the state. In fact, more than 60% of fatal bicycle crashes were caused by distracted drivers hitting cyclists, even when riders used bike lanes or the sidewalk to observe traffic regulations. Furthermore, cyclists are particularly vulnerable to serious injury or death after a bike crash. Due to the fact that bicyclists do not have the protection of passenger vehicles, riders may be subject to more severe consequences as a result of an accident.

These serious bike accidents causing injuries or even fatalities are an unfortunately common part of life in California, particularly in busy metro locations like the Bay Area.
